Well, what a great last couple of weeks it has been. The month long flat spell has now well and truely left us and some classic sessions have gone down at beaches all over ND. As well as the good surf we have had, there have also been some big tides, some of the biggest of the year, which means that a five star bore rolled through the river severn. There to meet it were surfers..... in there thousands!, news crews, helicopters and planes!! Lucky for me, I surfed it with bore surfing pro - Dave Butterton who knew one or two "secret spots" along the river which get really good but with one tenth of the crowds, thats probably due to the quick sand, electric fences and it being dark at the time the wave hits!! Below is the video of me and Dave surfing at sunrise along side Richard Knight and Nathan Maurace who kindly supplyed the video footage also with James Champignon and Dieter Zechmeister. Our ride is day was around 6-7 minutes from start to finish. The boat that you can see halfway through was the BBC film crew filming for Countryfile. Think we made about 4 seconds on national TV by the time they edited it! Dave is closed to the sun in the video, while I am to his left (second closest to the sun) with the peaked hood.
