Return from Moroc

Well, I would say its good to be back but its cold, dark damp and cold!! On the bright side, there is swell and have been getting some (very cold) surf's in, nothing epic although the forecast for morning is looking very good, so we will have to wait and see. Here are a couple more photos from our trip to Morocco. Big thanks to Graham for snapping these!

Sunday 17 January 2010

Well, our time in Africa has finally come to an end. The swell really dropped off today and although boilers was picking up more swell, the wind wasn't quite right. We are all pretty much surfed out now anyway!! Were all off to Tagazoute this evening for a meal out and for our friend Dave's birthday which should be good. Had some amazing waves over the last week and some really good photos too, which I will post as soon as I get hold of them. Will be catching our flight home in the morning, its been an amazing week, thanks for reading.

Another magical Morrocan day today, probably the best of out trip so far. Was a little cool this morning until the sun came up but soon reached the high 20's this afternoon. We scored a really fun rippable wave far to the north at a little fishing village in Imessouane. Had a really nice grilled, fresh sea bream for lunch before heading south to Boilers. Some really nice waves coming through and then the WQS boys arrived and the wave count went down.. fast!

Another great day. Surfed Anchor point around low tide for a couple of hours until the tide got too high and then went for a high tide session at Devils rock!

Food

Food!

Thursday 14 January 2010

We all had the most amazing meal at a small local resturaunt last night. Calamari, to start, with fresh bread. Huge prawns, Fish kebabs, steak, chops, fish... so much food! Another good day today, we got up this morning to find some light rain but that soon cleared when the sun come up! Went for a little drive today but didn't find very much, again - wrong swell direction! Dave got in at a spot called Unicorns which was quite heavy, got one wave and was back out! We went south to Panorama's which was so slow - it made saunton look good and then back to devils rock for another session, probably the best of the trip so far, some really hollow rights and a few cover-ups. Sorry, but not many photos from today.

Maish on a long right..

12' slab! Hard to get a scale of things but the smaller

one inside is about head and a half and its

breaking in about 1' of water. Some are sucking dry.

Dorian surfed it when he was here...

Day 2

We went for a drive North today. Its amazing just how many waves there are here, in such a small area, from 12' slabs breaking in 1ft of water to 1' mellow beach breaks, all with in about 45 minutes drive from each other. The swell was a little wrong for a lot of the spots today so we had a fun surf at Devils rock with some large sets coming through and chilled on the beach for the rest of the day. Going of for lobster, fresh fish and prawns for tea this evening! A few photos.

Arriving in Morocco

Well, we made it here with only a 20 min delay on the flight, despite all the snow and Ice. Nice and warm here, around 16 when we got here, although does get quite cold at night. We have just had a nice surf at Devils Rock, around 4', just overhead and clean. Some really good sets coming through around sunset! Will be posting more pictures as we drive around a little more over the next week.
