Below the Surface

Been doing some snorkelling recently and the reefs out front are alive, loads of fish, mainly wrasse and convict tangs and some damsel fish along with some other surgeon fish which are too quick to ID.

SURF!!!

Well, this is the first day I've been feeling fine, and spent most of the day surfing!! Surfed Sunset beach this morning, a little over head which was fun. Then, we had some lunch at the shrimp shack and I got in and made the most of the small conditions at Pipe and Backdoor, somewhere I really wanted to surf before I came to Hawaii.

Sunshine

The sun came out today at last and although the swell dropped off a little, we went for a drive around the island to waikiki and along the East side up to the North Shore and then back home. Feeling a bit better today too, out of bed, flu going away and may even get a surf in tomorrow!! :-) Some photos of out house/beach in the sun and from our drive around the island.

Wildlife

Was just about to paddle out for a surf when I spotted this guy haul himself up the beach, he seems pretty chilled out and is still there now as I write this. My friend Rico has just been snorkelling and says there are loads drifting around out there near the reef.

Aloha

Well, I'm finally here on the North Shore after lots of time traveling. Feeling pretty knackered right now. The day started out well leaving London on time and arriving in Los Angeles on time too although our connecting flight to the Island was delayed by around 2 hours. Not only that, there was a sever weather front movng through which meant most of the island was with out power when we arrived. Getting the hire cars was a challenge with all the computers down but, after a long day, we made it too the house, also, without power which wasn't really an issue as all anyone wanted to do at this point was to go to bed!! Today, the weather has started to clear, its still not quite as warm as it should be but the forecast is looking better as time goes on and there are some super fun little waves right out front. Here are some photos of my journey, our house and local area.

Snow Day up on Exmoor

Well with the surf flat, and the weather cold, what better way to spend a day than to go in search of snow up in Exmoor National Park, and then pop into a local pub for some lunch!!

Some pictures from our adventure...
